Biography

SAMUEL DE LANGE (b. Woodstock, Ontario 1989) holds a Master of Fine Arts from the Glasgow School of Art, and earned his BA (Honours) in Studio Art with a minor in Art History from the University of Guelph (2014). He works with combinations of photographic material, moving image, cast objects and furniture making as site-sensitive responses to place and context. Samuel De Lange was the national winner of the 2014 BMO 1st Art! prize. Recent exhibitions include empty room, silver mirror, with Jackson Klie, Gallery 44, Toronto (2022), Between the Salt of the Sun and the Light of the Sea (Part 1), TRUCK, Calgary (2020), and Cracks, fissures, and other thoughts in concrete, Civic Room, Glasgow, Scotland (2018).
