Christie Contemporary is pleased to present This space is occupied, an exhibition of recent work by Jade Rude, opening Friday, October 19 and continuing until November 17.

Giving form to space requires the delineation of a boundary, creating an inside and an outside. Deliberating that space can be perceived as either side of that limit, Jade Rude posits the void as a solid. Realized as sculpture, photography or drawing, the spaces underneath things, the gap between private and public, the counter-space of type and the cut-out are set inverse to their often unacknowledged hollows to map the coordinates of their intangibility.
