MARLA HLADY (b. Edmonton, 1965; lives and works in Toronto) studied at York University (MFA) and University of Victoria (BFA). She has exhibited her work widely, notable exhibitions including Circling the Inverse Square, curated by Shannon Anderson, Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery, 2013; Manif D’Art 6, Quebec City’s biennial, Quebec City, 2012; Walls, Hallwalls Contemporary Arts Center, Buffalo, NY, 2012. Her work is in the collections of National Gallery of Canada, Ottawa; Art Gallery of Ontario, Toronto; Museum London, London, ON; and CIBC Wood Gundy, Toronto. Hlady and collaborator Christof Migone were recently awarded the prestigious Glenfiddich Art-in-Residence Prize for 2019.
